Ncmhce

The following free practice exam is closely modeled after the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Exam (NCMHCE).

Don't worry if the answers and scoring don't seem to make sense, making sense out of this confusing exam is precisely what I cover in my highly focused, preparation workshop for t he NCMHCE.

Section A. During the first session, what information would be important to assess in order to formulate a provisional DSM-5 diagnosis?

6. She states that she has a few friends that she occasionally sees. Score +2

7. Denies. Score +3

8. She states that she can't concentrate as well as she used to. Score +2

9. Not indicated. Score -3

10. Not indicated. Score -2

11. She states "I'm OK with myself, I'm just not happy with my life". Score +1

12. Not indicated. Score -2

Section B. What initial assessment instruments would be appropriate for formulating a provisional DSM-5 diagnosis and developing a treatment plan?
