After doing my research, I decided to purchase this unit. It operates as I had expected. So far I have used it to clean off plastic outdoor chairs, my concrete driveway with the pattern of the plastic chair backs (LoL), dirty a/c vents, and experimented on some vinyl siding and some wood decking. Effective, but takes some time. But this IS a home type light duty washer.

As per other reviews (and per the manual by the way), it is most effective with the nozzle at the narrow setting. You definitely sacrifice cleaning power the wider you have the fan setting. The soap dispenser attachment is kind of a bummer, but again, in the manual it states that it is for soap coverage only. There is only enough pressure to splash the soap on, but not to clean anything off. To clean, you'll have to reattach the pressure wand and spray after letting the soap sit a few minutes. My opinion is that the soap dispenser could use a restrictor or a better nozzle design. It lets too much water flow, causing 2 drawbacks: not much pressure, and drains the soap dispenser quickly (in my case a little more than 30 seconds of continuous spraying. Don't forget it's for small jobs!). So far, I've been fortunate enough not to have any mechanical issues, but the product manual has a full exploded view of a parts list, so if you're a do-it-yourselfer, you can probably fix some of the problems on your own. If you have leaks at threaded connections, check the seals, make sure it is tight and that it's not cross threaded. When I put my unit together, I also put some synthetic plumbing grease on the o-ring seals. This helps in the ease of attachments and helps to prevent damaging the seals (causing leaks). Overall, I'm happy with it and think it's a good value, especially if you get it on sale.

Suggestions to keep in mind when deciding to buy this unit (applies to most products):

- Read the product manual! Either online or after you buy. This will get you familiar with the unit so you know what to expect from it. Proper priming and operation will reduce the likelihood of problems. Several of the ",issues", are explained in there.

- You DO get what you pay for. Do your homework and think of the jobs you will be doing and how often you will be doing them. If the jobs are large, heavy duty or you will be doing them very frequently, or you want to get it done fast, you may need a bigger washer.

- Only buy the unit if you will be using it soon. That way you will get a chance to see how it will hold up before the 90 day warranty expires.

- You can buy the extended warranty, but keep in mind extended warranties are calculated based on the odds that the product will break down within the warranty period. In other words the odds are better that it will be a good product. Otherwise they would be losing money and wouldn't sell you the extended warranty. I'm not saying don't buy it, just saying weigh the factors to see if it is really beneficial for you.

- Read reviews carefully. Some folks only take the time to write negative reviews and are only written (on any product) when things go wrong. Starts with something like this: ",..worked fine until&hellip,&hellip,",

- Specific power washing detergent and several parts (including a longer hose) are available at local home improvement stores.
