RV generators
An RV generator is a portable gas unit that supplies electrical power to the appliances in an RV when it is not hooked up to an electrical source, such as a campground electrical box. The amount of kilowatts the generator has will determine how many appliances you can use at one time. It is very important to get enough wattage or you will blow a breaker and lose power. The RV owner can determine how many watts they need by adding the appliance watts together, and then adding some additional watts to prevent overload. The back of the appliance or the appliance handbook will tell you how many watts it needs.
RV owners are advised to run the generator for 30 minutes before the first use to warm it up and then approximately once a month to keep it running smoothly. Try connecting one appliance at a time to see how much power the appliance uses.
Above are a variety of RV generators to choose from including a wide range of Onan models. You may also select from a sub category below including Gas, Propane, Diesel and California Compliant.
