T he Information Technology Infrastructure Library, or ITIL, is the most widely accepted method for IT service management that concentrates on the alignment of IT services with the business industry’s needs. According to the ITIL site, “,ITIL is the most widely adopted approach for IT Service Management in the world. It provides a practical, no-nonsense framework for identifying, planning, delivering and supporting IT services to the business.”, It was developed in 1980 by the UK Government’s Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) in response to the business industry’s growing dependence on Information Technology.
Moreover, ITIL provides a unified set of best practices derived from the public as well as private sectors throughout the world. Some of the well- known organizations that adopt the ITIL method include the NASA, the UK National Health Service (NHS), HSBC Bank, and Disney. In order to take the ITIL exam, you must register at a center that is accredited by the APMG to give the ITIL exam. Some of these testing centers include the APGM-International, BCS-ISEB, Cert-It, CSME, Dansk IT, and many others. Check out ITIL’,s official site for a full list of certified centers.
