I',m Diane Hopkins. I',m the mother of 7 children and the designer of the modest swimwear that you see here. My children and grandchildren are my models, along with their friends. Aren',t they cute?
When my first child was born, I started thinking a lot about how clothing influences the way we think and act, and how it affects others. I really wanted my children to realize how sacred and precious their bodies are, and have a sense of respect and modesty.
I searched the stores looking for modest swimwear. I resorted finally to sewing, so that I could provide more modest swimsuits --something that would provide coverage that I felt would be respectful to their bodies.
Up to that time, I encouraged my growing girls to wear a t-shirt over their swimming suit, hoping to make it more modest. A wet t-shirt is not very easy to swim in! It is cold and heavy when wet, plus it can be very revealing! So that didn',t work.
Over the years, I worked at designing modest swimwear for my girls. I wanted it to be modest and stylish. Plus it had to be comfortable to swim in and easy to wear. It took hundreds of attempts to find what really worked best. I am glad to offer to you my finished design!
