Overall

The Oriana mattress is from Serta',s ",SertaPedic", line -- meaning, latex foam rather than spring mattresses. The mattress comes in firm and plush-top versions. I believe that these are identical in construction except for some soft padding on the plush top.

I purchased a plush top version for my older daughter when she was ready for a big bed, and it has been great. Both my wife and I find it extremely comfortable lying next to her -- to the point that it really has me thinking about foam mattresses for my own bed.

When it came time for a matress for my younger daughter, I immediately went out and looked for another. American Mattress carries this line, and they were on sale for 50% off -- $99 for the firm, $129 for a plush top. It was a no-brainer, and now both girls are very comfortable on these mattresses.

Note that the mattress world is renowned for being hard to understand. There',s a lot of technical mumbo-jumbo, and it is often difficult to comparison shop because manufcturers make basically identical models under different brand names for the larger retailers. The best thing to do is to educate yourself on the basics (Viewpoints has a nice guide here ), take everything a salesperson tells you with several grains of salt, and -- of course -- go lie on the matress for a while before you buy it. Buying from a merchant that offers a 30 or 60-day guarantee on comfort is not a bad idea, either.
