Season 2 of RJ Berger pulls you right back into some extremely uncomfortable situations:
--Your mother over-hearing you having trouble unclasping your girlfriend's bra -- and shouting advice from the kitchen as to how to get those "muffins out of the oven while they're still hot."
--The dumpiest-looking girl in the school sharing her sexual fantasies with you. And, of course, her sexual fantasies star you.
Like in Season 1, the dialog is fast, furious and hilarious. Several times it made me burst out laughing at volumes that surprised me. This show is a riot.
It's a riot that still has its sweet side, a certain charm that balances out all the edginess. Too bad RJ Berger never found its audience. It was truly one of a kind. But the laughs were less frequent this second time around, and it lost its way for a couple episodes, one of which guest-starred one of the kooks from Jersey Shore. When you need to use Jersey Shore to pull up your ratings, well, that's a good indication that the curtain is falling.
That said, the episode guest-starring Paris Hilton was one of the all-time funniest sit-com episodes.
