Salicylic Acid Facial Cleansers

Salicylic Acid Facial Cleansers Last Updated: Aug 16, 2013 | By Rachel Nall
Salicylic acid is a medication included in face washes, spot treatments, lotions and other skincare products to fight acne and skin conditions such as psoriasis, according to Medline Plus website. Using a salicylic acid facial cleanser correctly can help to reduce the incidence of problem skin conditions.

Function Application

When used as a cleanser, salicylic acid is commonly sold over the counter in a two percent salicylic acid solution, according to Acne.org. However, your physician can prescribe a stronger salicylic acid solution face wash if you are not experiencing your desired results. Begin by moistening your face with warm water, then gently massage the cleanser on your face. Avoid your eyes, nose and mouth when washing your face. Rinse off the cleanser with warm water, then gently towel off.
