Dr. Lancer is the best of the best and quite honestly incomparable. I',d like to start off by addressing all the people who complain and whine in their review about his fees and the fact that he does not accept insurance. What you are paying for is QUALITY. You can rest assured that there is not one dermatologist out there who surpasses Dr. Lancer on any level. If you can',t afford it, you can',t afford it - but don',t complain, it',s not his fault, it',s yours. Sorry! Just kindly cancel the consultation but don',t try to bash a practice for fees. Like with any private practice, he',s entitled to set whatever fees he wants and the guy knows his worth. His office is absolutely gorgeous and everything is state of the art. He himself has given me advice and treatments which puts to shame other ",leading", derms in the area that I',ve been to. I literally feel enlightened and at peace when I leave my appointments.
Does he push his products on you? Not necessarily, but look at this way - if you',re there to create a skin care regime, why wouldn',t he advise that you use the best products on the market (which happen to be his)? I mean seriously, think of it logically. I',m sure the man didn',t invest his blood, sweat, tears and time into these products for nothing.
The office is immaculate. One of the nicest I have seen.
The staff is very straight forward. Once you make it beyond the front desk they get friendlier - until the dreaded product pitch.
Dr. Lancer is a solid dude. He',s quirky and intelligent, but is efficient. He has a good sense of humor if you',re capable of sensing it. Otherwise I could see why he would come off cold to some.
The dreaded product pitch by the assistant is brutal. They blur the line between what has been prescribed and what are add-on products. They threw a good $1,000 of products at me as if it was the recommended package by the doctor. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn',t. I know nothing about skin care products, so I carefully weeded out the useless products as best I could and still left with $400 worth.
If I can',t trust my doctor than I won',t go to them. So I bought the essentials that were recommended based on trust.
