DIXIE POLY DRUM CORPORATION
In 1951 in a small vacant warehouse in Lodi, New Jersey our founder Seymour Zilbert began remanufacturing wooden barrels from the liquor companies and marketing them to the chemical industry. With a crew of 5 drum makers, Mr. Zilbert led the company by example. He worked long hours starting up the plant in the morning, making sales calls, driving the delivery truck, and at night he did the accounting.
In 1967 he moved to a larger facility in Kearney, New Jersey and began reconditioning metal drums and distributing plastic drums. In 1973 Mr. Zilbert installed the first rotational molding machine to manufacture his own design of plastic drums. Eventually in 1984 a second manufacturing facility was purchased in Yemassee, South Carolina and thus the birth of Dixie Poly Drum Corporation.
Today Dixie Poly Drum is operated by it’s president and CEO Beth Zilber and General Manager Dennis Johnson. We are a privately held company with the mentality and flexibility to believe the customer is number one and we can fill his needs.
Over the years Dixie Poly Drum has become a leading manufacturer of safety and material handling products such as SUPER SHIPPER poly chemical drums, GUARD DOG building protection, POLY-,CADE traffic barriers, STEP AND STORE step stools and work platforms, BIG MOUTH secondary containment, and TRANSCHEM chemical tanks.
