Automatically backs up multiple versions of files. Easy selection of standard file categories and locations to save in backup sets.
Memeo AutoBackup Premium, a set-and-forget data backup program, automatically saves multiple versions of your data files: If you don't like the versions you worked on yesterday or today, you can go back to the version you created the day before yesterday. I like the general idea of this program, and I like the simplicity of its consumer-level design. I like the way its basic options let you tell it to back up all the files in My Documents or on your desktop, or all your music files or photos, or all your word-processing and financial files. I don't admire the complicated way it handles requests to back up files that aren't in its preset categories, or its lack of any built-in options to back up hard-to-restore files like the ones stored in Word for Windows' default document template. I don't like the way it dedicates large parts of its interface to persuading you to buy other Memeo software and services. And I intensely dislike the way Memeo displays a message telling me that it has performed an action that it hasn't performed at all—,a story you'll find later on in this review.
