In making strand woven bamboo, Moso bamboo stalks are harvested. Then, the bamboo is boiled, to remove the natural sugars that are found in the bamboo. Once boiled, the Moso bamboo is set aside to thoroughly dry.

Benefits

Traditional bamboo flooring is made by gluing strips of bamboo together. The high pressure heat press and adhesive used to make strand woven bamboo flooring creates a single plank of bamboo. As a result, the strand woven flooring is far more durable than its traditional bamboo counterpart.

Installing

Strand woven bamboo is often installed the same way other laminate-style flooring is installed. Some strand woven bamboo flooring is installed using tongue-and-groove techniques, while other types can be glued, stapled, or nailed during installation.
