ID TheftSmart is brought to you by Kroll Inc. which is a risk-consulting company with about 60,000 employees and annual revenues exceeding $11 billion. It was founded in 1972 and is based in Manhattan, New York City.

ID TheftSmart The Bad

ID Theft Smart does not offer their services to individuals, they only have group plans. Since ID Theft Smart does not have one standard package for individuals, we based their identity protection criteria off of the fact that the only protection service they provide is credit monitoring. Typically credit monitoring includes a Social Security Number and credit card numbers. Also, they do not have a lost wallet protection and doesn’,t allow you to update your credit score. They don’,t have anything that covers data monitoring in their basic package and in order to get data monitoring, then you have to pay $12.95 for their Gold package. Even with the upgraded package, the data monitoring (ID Integrity Scan) doesn’,t cover anything but the minimum, scan the internet for your information.

The Bottom Line

ID Theft Smart hasn’,t seemed to polish their identity protection services yet. They seem like more of a credit score company than an identity protection company because they offer more features related to credit and bare-minimum features related to ID theft. With this company, paying for the basic package is exactly what you’,re going to get…,. a very basic package. Even though ID Theft Smart’,s parent company, Koll, is successful, this department isn’,t at its best.

Bronze Package –, $7.95/month

• Credit monitoring with one bureau and alerts: ID TheftSmart members will receive alerts to their emails of any major or suspicious activity occurs on their credit file
• Identity theft restoration services: ID TheftSmart representatives are available to help in restoration of identity theft and will take over your case so you don’t have to do the majority of the work

Members signed up with the Bronze Package can also include a spouse for an additional $3.95/month.

Silver Package –, $11.95/month

The Silver Package includes all of the benefits listed in the previous packages and additionally offers:

• Credit monitoring with three bureaus and alerts:  Members will receive notification by email if any suspicious or major activity occurs on any of their three credit reports
• Experian credit report:  You will have access to your Experian credit report so you can personally view and analyze the transactions and information on the file
• Credit score:   ID TheftSmart offers your credit score so you can always know how your credit report is affecting your score
• Credit score analysis:   ID TheftSmart makes it easy for their consumers by providing analysis of their credit score so they can easily break down and understand what habits are affecting their credit score
• $25,000 identity theft benefit: You can be reimbursed up to $25,000 related to expenses in recovering your identity if it is stolen

Members signed up with the Silver Package can also include a spouse for an additional $11.95/month.

Gold Package –, $12.95/month

The Gold Package includes all of the benefits listed in the previous packages and additionally offers:

• idINTEGRITYScan:   24/7 surveillance through public and private databases, internet directories and hacker chat rooms.  Members can provide what information they want to be monitored by registering.  Email alerts are sent if idINTEGRITYScan picks up suspicious activity.
